Middle East Karting Cup championship event is sanctioned by the CIK-FIA, the Commission Internationale de Karting of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. The championship is being organized by Ghibli Raceway, the leading karting facility in the Middle East, one of the few homologated tracks and facilities in the world built to the highest CIK- FIA standards.
More than 30 drivers from 16 countries participate in Round 2 & 3 of Middle East Karting Cup 2009 in July 2-4 and July 9-11 to compete for championship and opportunity to participate in Rotax MAX Challenge World Finals, which will be organized by Ghibli Raceway in December 2009 at its Sharm El Sheikh International Karting track. In January 2004 Ghibli Raceway had already the honour of hosting the Rotax MAX Challenge World Finals as the most international (38 countries) and popular (+7,000 competitors) FIA sanctioned motor sport formula.
